When I turn on my computer, my screen displays "Check signal cable", why? Thanks

I had the same problem with my new LG flatron w2261v screen; when connecting via VGA or DVI, the no signal cable message appeared. The solution is simple: by default, the screen is set to HDMI. You just need to change the setting in the screen menu (button on the side) and confirm by pressing autoset, I believe. There you go, I hope I helped!

I was searching too much on the internet, without finding solutions, I initially thought my problem was screwed, and that the screen and/or the graphics card had a defect, until I read your response, misterden, thanks ;)

Thank you, but I don't have access to any buttons on the side. When I press one of them, it shows digital, analog, and then returns to blinking (sleep mode)!

I have the same problem, and the buttons on the screen are unresponsive... and the worst part is that it's the work computer I am responsible for :-( please help me.
