Est-il possible de supprimer le cercle bleu de WhatsApp ?

Un rond bleu et violet est apparu dans l'interface de WhatsApp, c'est un "chatbot" nommé Meta AI. Ce robot conversationnel peut répondre à vos questions, conseiller, donner une recette ou trouver l'adresse d'un restaurant. Cependant, impossible de le supprimer ou le désactiver totalement de l'application. Pour limiter sa visibilité, il ne faut surtout pas cliquer dessus. Une option pour effacer la mémoire de l'IA existe. Mais la confidentialité des données avec Meta AI reste un sujet à débat. Qu'en pensez-vous, est-ce une avancée technologique bénéfique ou une intrusion de plus dans notre vie privée ?

The opt-out form for WhatsApp no longer seems to work.

When trying to opt out of Meta AI, one can read:

If you made this choice regarding generative AI features, please note that these features are offered by Meta. To learn more or if you have questions about the generative AI features provided by Meta, click here.

However, in English, it says:

Using Meta AI through WhatsApp is optional. Interactions are not used to improve AI at Meta, and we’ll make it clear if this changes. For more information, please visit the Help Center.

This means in French that using Meta AI on WhatsApp is optional - meaning that one should not click on it - and that interactions will not be used to improve the AI. However, it is clearly stated that this could change... Except that it will be "clearly indicated" if they decide to use the data.

So for the moment, WhatsApp does not seem to use personal data for training Meta AI, even when using it.

It's WhatsApp that should be deleted, Meta has decided that it will be done with AI, and that the AI will be partly trained on it.

There is news regarding WhatsApp and AI!

Meta has just made a new form available for you to opt-out of the use of your information if you use Meta’s AI.

Only messages mentioning @Meta AI or those intentionally shared with the AI will be read by Meta, but interactions will still not be used to train the AI on WhatsApp. What is reassuring, and fortunately so, is that private messages and calls remain confidential - Meta will not access them in any way.

If you do not wish for Meta to use the information you send to Meta AI on WhatsApp, here is the link to the opt-out form:

If you have already opted out (via the WhatsApp form), you do not need to fill out this form again. However, if you change your WhatsApp number, you will need to submit a new opt-out request.

And one last note, this only concerns WhatsApp. To opt-out on Facebook and Instagram, use the dedicated forms. The links are grouped in this forum discussion.
